If you own an Android based phone, you like me know how wonderful the user interface (UI) is, however, its not quite as cool as the Linux Beryl that the desktops have the ability to run, your prayers have been answered.  I would like to introduce you to an intuitive shell for your Android device, the SPB SHELL 3D.

With the Android based cell phones, you generally get about 5 menus to customize to your whim.  With the SPB Shell, you have an endless supply of menus you can add and customize.  Another interesting feature is their 3D overview of the active menus.

When you select your home screen button (at the 6 o’clock position on the menu) you’re presented with this 3D view that you can spin in either direction.  Also when the 3D interface is left idle, it slowly spins clockwise and certain modules within it have their own 3D-Animation that highlights that feature.  I am particularly fond of the Weather, 3D World Time, Birthday, Texting & Clock animations myself.

Another sweet feature of the SPB Shell is the folders.  The folders have a small footprint, however, you can add as much as you wish to them.  When you click the folder on the right hand side, it expands and reveals the items within.  Now you can have your system tools on your home screen, neatly tucked away until you need to access them, and it does not rearrange the icons on your menu when activated.

At last, my HTC EVO has the UI that I’ve been dreaming about, and frankly it separates the other browsers out there.  Best of all, you can buy it from the Android Market for $14.95.  Yes it’s a little steep for a menu shell, however once you realize the power of it, you’ll be glad you purchased it. 

I wanted to mention, unlike other Android Market purchases, you have 15 minutes to demo & refund this app before you own it, unlike the standard 24-hour trial period.

I highly recommend the SPB SHELL 3D to anyone that wants that Gingerbread like UI on their Android devices, once you go 3D, its hard to go back to a flat UI.
